Floyd (Mac) McAnallen’s 1954 Willys CJ-3B
This is my 1954 Willys Jeep CJ-3B with the 134 ci, 4 Cyl, 72 HP
“Hurricane Engine”. All Matching numbers to include the original
motor. Bought her about 2 years ago and the guy already had someone
install the stainless steel body on here.
Cosmetically it looked good, but needed much work. Mechanically she
was in bad shape.
Had to get her dependable and back in shape. Believe it or not, I
started with the heater (in Florida, go figure), But I learned and
replaced/rebuilt/busted knuckles as I went.
Pretty much total upper end rebuilds, head/valves, etc… Pistons and
rings. Bottom end was good. All new bearings, shocks, struts, new
breaks, break lines, complete new wiring harness, plugs, wires, coil,
fuel pump, fuel lines (all) carb, oil lines, 3 core radiator to keep
her cooler, header and custom made breather, plus a lot more, etc…
She is solid, no leaks, one crank start every time and she is 100%
reliable as well as a tough old girl.
Do not go off rode much, but back and forth to work (8 miles) and
around town everyone wants to talk about her.
She is by far one of the most fun vehicles I have owned and a blast to
drive.
Floyd,
That is awesome works of your restoration. Congrad with the fruits of your labor done. Great looking Willys.
Proud owner of a U.S.A. build vehicle, will last you forever in your family.
