The CJ-3A was purchased new in 1950 by Virgil Sullivan for U.S. Mail delivery on very substandard roads in rural “Sullivan’s Hollow”, Smith County, MS. In 1953 it was utilized on hunting trips to the Mississippi Delta and has remained as a primary hunting vehicle. Virgil Sullivan was a lone fox hunter and slept in the CJ-3A enumerable nights as his pack of hounds made rounds in Smith County, Mississippi. Kullen Sullivan, 5th generation, rides in the CJ-3A today with his great grandfather, current owner, Tom Sullivan.
I’ve heard many tales from Sullivan’s Hollow. Greetings from Jackson, great Jeep.
