Hi, I’m Mark, I live in Co Cavan in Ireland. I found this total restoration project, it’s a 1952 Willys Jeep, model CJ-3A. It was purchased new by the irish army. And with a lot of work, some swearing, and of course money I am hoping to restore it to the condition it was in when it first served with the irish army. Wish me luck…..
On further inspection of the vehicle I have found that all that is restorable is the chassie, axles, gearbox and steering. I’m not sure about the engine block, but I will investigate it at a later stage. First I need to strip the Jeep down to the bare chassis. And start from there.
– I now have the engine, gearbox, steering column, and axles removed from the chassis.
