I’m Juan Pablo Murillo, From Colombia, South America, some time ago I bought a Willys CJ-3A, it was working, but in bad condition, I decided to start the restauration at home, it was difficult because I didn’t know nothing about internal mechanics; i’m a mechanical engineer and I love classic cars.
On May 15 began the adventure, with a friend Esteban Suarez; we started disarming all the car, then we reconstruct all the pieces and now we enjoy the car some weekends.
My car is CJ-3A from 1951 and have the original engine, transmission, all the mechanical elements, and now I’m getting the new stuff, like the clocks and other accessories. We finished the restauration on January 3rd, and we take out the car for the celebration of our city, called ‘Feria de Manizales’ recognized like the best fair in America, ‘La mejor feria de America’

The Willys Jeep has been preferred by coffee growers in Colombia for more than 60 years, these fine and sturdy Jeeps transported people and cargo on the roads and trails in the coffee region of Colombia, in adverse conditions, terrain mountain slopes, roads, unpaved land, through mud, gravel, rivers, streams, hills and mountains, being the successors of the horse and mules … all peasants of Colombia and Colombian coffee entrepreneurs love the old field CJ, and still use these old Willys in many villages as the main means of transport of the country people … disrupt, rebuild and launch the model CJ3A 1951 was an act of entrepreneurship that should be applauded … ! El Willys ha sido el campero preferiodo por los cafeteros de Colombia desde hace más de 60 años, estos finos y resistentes camperos transportaron personas y carga por los caminos y trochas de la zona cafetera, en condiciones adversas, terrenos pendientes, de montaña, caminos sin asfalto, a través del barro, la gravilla, ríos, riachuelos, montes y montañas, siendo los sucesores del caballo y las mulas de carga … todos los campesinos ce Colombia y los empresarios del campo aman los antiguos CJ y aún se utilizan en muchos pueblos como principal medio de transporte de las gentes del campo … desbaratar, reconstruir y poner en marcha el CJ3a modelo 1951 fue un acto de emprendimiento que debe ser aplaudido … bravo Juan Pablo … conserva tu Willys con la mayor parte de piezas originales que el mercado te pueda suministrar … ese Willys forma parte de la épica Historia de Colombia !
