This is my 1947 CJ-2A Willys. My dad purchased the Jeep in 1968 from a volunteer fire dept. The Jeep had burned in a grass fire. He fixed it up and used it as a hunting Jeep. He parked the Jeep in an open shed 30 years ago and it has set there ever since. The fuel system was gummed up and the brakes were rusted up. The hood and fenders were dented up from him hauling dead deer on top of the Jeep in colorado. I did a full frame off restoration. New hood, tailgate, fenders, tires, seat frames and new seat covers. Replaced fuel system and brake system and replaced leaking seals. Also did a tune on the engine with plugs, wires, points, water pump, fuel pump and carburetor. The transmission and other parts of the engine are original. The engine and transmission run really good and it purrs like a kitten. I want to thank Kaiser Willys, Mike and Heath for their help and advise. I dedicate this Jeep to my father. He passed away two years ago and left me the Jeep. He loved this Jeep and tried giving me the Jeep when he was alive but I showed no interest in the Jeep and that made him really mad. I told him someday I would work on the Jeep and that I really had no interest in the Jeep at that time. This Jeep is all I think about now. I love it just as much as my dad did. I have enjoyed working on the Jeep and I wish that I had showed an interest in the Jeep when my dad was here with me. I know he would be proud. Dad this is for you!
