I bought this Jeep in March 2010. My wife had passed away from ALS the previous Thanksgiving and I thought it would help steer my mind in better directions. My dad had one, in this very color, some 45 years ago. The memories of playing in the back of the old CJ were some of the happiest times of my life. I left the F-Head in because the previous owner claimed to have completely rebuilt it. I’m not sure I believe him anymore since it does burn a little oil, but it’ll pull 62 miles an hour, so it must be in pretty decent condition. It took me almost four and half years to restore. In that time three of my four kids grew up and moved out into the world. When they come home we take the backroads in the CJ and tighten the bonds that keep us together after all we’ve been through. It’s been quite a ride, both this life and the Jeep.
