It has taken three years, with my parents, my brothers, my nieces, and my boys but my 1947 Willys Jeep is almost done! We took it out for a drive when I was home last week. Such a great weekend, such a great family! We started the project with the intentions of getting it running, welding some plates over the rust, paint it green and have fun. We ended up taking it down to the frame sandblasting everything, changing the engine, rebuilding the transmission and then rebuilt the rest from the frame up. My dad is a perfectionist and it soon became clear if we were going to do this we were going to do it right. Big shout out to Kaiser Willys and their amazing website. It’s more than a place to order parts, but if you are reading this you already know. We thought it was a 1946 according to the previous owner but after using the Kaiser website we discovered it is actually a 1947.
