SENIOR PROJECT:
Hi my name is Cameron Danner, I am 17 years old and live in Napa California. In my town to graduate from high school you must do an outside school project. For the project you must do something that you have never done before to better prepare yourself for life to come after high school. So for my senior project I chose to restore a 1948 Willys Pickup.
My boss is a Jeep collector that owns a 1962 CJ-5 and two Willys trucks, I decided to help him restore one of the pickups. The interior was in terrible shape and the frame had some rust on it, a lot of welding was involved. I had a great time restoring this Jeep. In the middle of the process I fell in love with Jeeps and decided to buy one of my own. Now I am the proud owner of a 1943 MB and a 1947 CJ-2A that I am in the middle of restoring.
“Restoring that Jeep was one of the biggest achievements in my life.”

Good job! As the owner of a ’51 M38, I understand how easy it is to get hooked on Jeeps. My first experience with Jeeps was also in high school when I was privileged to have a nearby storekeeper with a ’46 CJ2A. I delivered groceries after school and ran errands in the little Willys and just fell in love with ’em! Why is that a bumpy-riding, sometimes cantankerous, often stubborn car can be so much FUN? Good luck with your projectand many miles of fun!!!
I congratulate you. My first car or restore their age. Today I have 32 cars including one like yours
then. I send pictures. I live in Costa Rica, Central America. Regards

I recently sold a 48 willys pickup to a Chico State student. He didn’t want the gallon of green paint and hardner. At my warehouse in Roseville which isn’t that far from Napa. Cameron can have it . cell 916 316-2367
Very cool! Way to go! Watch out, you’ll get hooked for Life…
GREAT TO SEE A HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT INTERESTED IN THE PAST. I HAD ONE OF THESE SAME MODELS THAT I INHERITED FROM MY DAD. SAD TO SAY THOU IT WAS JUST TOO FAR GONE OTHER THAN SOME PARTS. STILL LOOKING FOR ONE OF THESE THAT CAN BE REPAIRED THOUGH. IN THE MEANTIME IM WORKING ON A 1952 M-38 AND 1948 CJ2A TO BRING HISTORY BACK. GOOD TO SEE HIGH SCHOOLERS WORKING ON THINGS SUCH AS THIS TO OCCUPY TIME
LOOKS LIKE A GREAT JOB TO TACKLE, FOR A HIGH SCHOOLER. I KNOW AS MY WIFE AND I CHOSE A 1949 4 WHEL DRIVE WILLYS PICKUP AS OUR PROJECT(many pictures are posted in the k-w pictures section). YOU HAD MANY OF THE SAME PROBLEMS AS WE DID, EXCEPT YOU DID THE WORK YOURSELF. I HAD TO HAVE SOME OF THESE HIRED DONE, BECAUSE OF A BAD BACK. CONGRATULATIONS ON A JOB WELL DONE.

Great story. These old Jeeps have a personality and life of their own.
