~ To read about and see more photos about the trip visit the Armistice 100 Convoy site and Facebook page. Sent to us by Gary Moore (who also went on a 16 month journey around Australia in his MB two years ago).
My father and I have just completed a 4000 plus a bit kilometer journey around New Zealand on what was the ‘’Armistice 100’’ convoy. I managed the whole 4000 with the top down, windshield flat. We had sun, wind, rain, and even snow on the last day. I drove the 42 Willys MB that I traveled around Australia in two years ago. My dad drove his 44 Ford GPW. In total, I think we had 7 Jeeps in the one pic? But there were 28 vehicles at the best, including 4 motor bikes. We had ten or twelve Americans who joined in. They were catching up on favours earned by loaning some of us Kiwis vehicles for the route 66 and Alaskan convoys. We had vehicles here for them, payin back, with pleasure.
