This project was started in the summer of 2013 after we towed this CJ-3A 2,300 miles from Pittsburgh Pa. to Coeur D Alene Idaho. It was my wife’s uncle’s Jeep and had 60 plus years of Pittsburgh mud and grease on it. We initially planned on just using it for a mountain buggy but after getting it home and seeing it had restorable potential we decided to strip it down to the frame for a total frame up restoration. Everything on this Jeep was rebuilt 100%. The only things that are not original are the tires, wheels, seats and roll bar which we felt it would spruce it up a little bit. Now that this project is finished it is too nice of a machine to take into the mountains and has now become a Sunday driver instead. We put alot of sweat equity in this project and are glad now that we can share it with the Willys community. If it had not been for Kaiser Willys parts I don’t know what we would have done. Our next project is going to be a Willys pickup to go along with the CJ-3A.
